Overview

The SEOULANA Hackathon was an incredible success! As the first-ever Solana hackathon hosted by Superteam Korea in Seoul — the vibrant heart of South Korea — we brought together over 300 builders and collaborated with 23 sponsors from both Korea and around the world. Here’s a recap of everything that unfolded during the three-day event, held from April 4 to April 6.

SEOULANA wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible sponsors—from across the Solana ecosystem and Korea’s thriving Web3 builder community. A huge thank you to each of them for making this event a reality.

The Build Up

Preparing for the first-ever Solana hackathon in Korea, led by Superteam, was no small feat. From securing the perfect venue to onboarding top-tier sponsors, judges, and mentors—and coordinating every logistical detail to ensure a seamless builder experience—our team worked tirelessly to bring SEOULANA to life. Every decision was made with both builders seeking opportunities and projects looking for top talent in Korea in mind.

The Bootcamp

In the month leading up to the hackathon, Superteam Korea hosted a series of weekly bootcamp sessions designed to equip builders with essential knowledge and help them form teams. Held every Thursday, these in-person meetups fostered a vibrant and collaborative environment, ultimately engaging over 1,000 builders who came with genuine passion and impactful ideas. It was especially rewarding to see teams that formed during the bootcamps go on to win prizes at the main event—kudos to everyone who made it happen!

Superteam Korea and members, including our Tech Lead Boosik, were eager to share their vision for Solana and their hands-on experience building in the ecosystem. The goal of SEOULANA wasn’t just to host a large-scale event, but to fill it with meaningful insights and practical knowledge for anyone interested in the Solana ecosystem.

SEOULANA 2025 - a Three Full Day Journey

Day 1 Recap

Day 1 of the SEOULANA Hackathon kicked off with energy and excitement as over 300 builders gathered at the Innovation Academy at 42 Seoul to officially begin their Solana journeys. Teams formed quickly, fueled by ideas refined during the March bootcamps, and dove straight into building. The atmosphere was electric, with participants connecting over shared goals, exploring cutting-edge tools from sponsors, and receiving guidance from mentors and judges across the Solana ecosystem — all setting the stage for an intense and productive weekend of innovation.

To enhance the building experience, Day 1 featured presentations from key sponsors including Presto, Wormhole, Jito & Fragmetric, Sanctum, ASTRA, Sonic, Zeus, and Aethir. Each shared insights into their work on Solana and offered practical guidance for teams interested in participating in their Special Tracks, helping builders better align their ideas with real ecosystem needs and opportunities.

Infrastructure sponsors such as Helius, Blockdaemon, and LAVARAGE further strengthened Day 1 of SEOULANA by showcasing the development tools and resources they offered to participants. Helius and Blockdaemon provided developer credits to each team to support their building efforts, while LAVARAGE offered free access to its backend infrastructure, making it easier for teams to develop DeFi services efficiently.

Day 2 Recap

Day 2 of the SEOULANA Hackathon focused on deepening both technical progress and strategic thinking through a packed schedule of panels and office hours. A unique aspect of the day was the “office hour” format—designed to foster direct interactions between builders, mentors, and ecosystem experts. This approach enabled teams to gain targeted feedback, align talents, and refine their ideas with insights from those actively building on Solana.

The panel discussions throughout the day provided critical context on emerging opportunities within the ecosystem. Topics included the Future of the Restaking Ecosystem with insights from Wormhole, Jito, and Fragmetric; Solana’s Institutional Strategy led by Presto, BitGo, and Blockdaemon; and the Future of DeFi on Solana featuring Corca, Lavarage, and others. Later panels tackled Driving Mass User Adoption with speakers like D3, SNS.SOL, and CUDIS, as well as Diagnosing Solana’s SVM Network Ecosystem with Astra, Zeus, Sonic, and Solayer. The final session on Infrastructure on Solana brought together Streamflow, Helius, and Aethir to highlight key backend enablers for developers.

The day concluded with open hacking time and an open mic session, giving teams a space to share ideas and unwind after an intense day of building and learning.

Day 3

The final day of the hackathon was especially intense, with all project submissions due by morning. With over 300 builders participating, the range of ideas and execution made SEOULANA a success. The hackathon’s structure ensured that any team with a strong concept had a fair shot at making it to Demo Day, while also offering multiple opportunities to win through the Special Tracks powered by key sponsors.
